Mind and Body

Nourish your mind, body and spirit

We are all on a journey through our lives. Therapy can provide a kind of solace and safe haven in which you can explore that journey and whatever challenges you are facing at any given moment. I want to know what it is like to be you ! To wake up in your skin, to live with the mixture of feelings, thoughts, impulses, dreams, conflicts, and passions that are utterly unique to you. The experiences you may have had in your life could have left you feeling a variety of emotions that can feel overwhelming. Oftentimes those experiences leads to unhealthy patterns in your thinking and your behaviors. Our actions and beliefs make exquisite sense, and the way to transform our relationship with ourselves and with others is to approach the therapeutic process with openness, curiosity, and kindness to ourselves. The emotional and physical symptoms experienced can take a toll on your ability to lead a fulfilling life with meaningful relationships. Let’s discover how your own personal journey has shaped you into the person you have become, and how you can move forward learning from your experiences, feeling more motivated to become the person you were truly meant to be!

In therapy sessions we will aim at improving your mental health, reducing uncomfortable symptoms, and most importantly learning how to manage what triggers you.  At the same time I help clients discuss and understand how other factors such as eating habits may contribute to these symptoms.  What we eat has a profound effect on how we feel. Food has tremendous healing powers. Some foods energize us, others make us feel weighed down and many others can even heal ailments and conditions. For example, did you know that a black radish fights off infections and promotes healthy digestive functioning? Or that eliminating caffeine will significantly reduce anxiety symptoms?

A good diet is fundamental to good health, yet we may not always be mindful of that when we are busy and on the go. I encourage my clients to take an honest look at their eating patterns; what they are eating and how they are eating. I do this by helping clients become more mindful about how they approach food.  Getting creative in the kitchen not only allows us to control our own health and overall wellness, but cooking can be joyful and a rewarding experience.  I provide healthy, delicious and nutritious recipes on my blog and in sessions from time to time. I may recommend my clients incorporate certain foods to treat their mental and physical health problems. Natural remedies for aches, pains, and protection against serious diseases are everywhere! If only we become more aware of what they are and mindful about incorporating them into our every day lives !
