Nourishment for your body: Kombucha is a fizzy drink that is made of yeast, sugar and fermented tea. It is considered a probiotic and is renowned for improving your gut health (healthy bacteria in the digestive tract). Growing evidence suggests that Kombucha prevents the growth of cancer cells and kills microbes which helps to fight bacteria off. Drinking Kombucha can also promote mental health because there is a strong link between depression and inflammation in the body. Kombucha is an anti-inflammatory and may alleviate depressive symptoms associated with certain health conditions.

Tips when cooking: This recipe was inspired by my son who loves Kombucha and enjoys making these ice pops with me. Soda is not something I purchase so as a healthy alternative my son took a liking to Kombucha. During hot sunny days when my home is typically a free for all for my son’s friends, they love running indoors to cool off and savor these delicious ice pops. This drink comes in many different flavors including mango, strawberry, guava, pineapple, pomegranate, ginger, among many others. Instilling healthy habits in our children is paramount to their physical and emotional well being!
